Minutes of the June 25, 2009 The regular meeting of the Board of Health was called to order at 7:10 pm. by President Randy Moscaritolo who announced that the meeting was being held in conformance with the Open Public Meeting Act. Sunshine law was read. On roll call the following members responded as follows: Randy Moscaritolo PRESENT Dr. Jerome Forman “ Carla Gabriel “ Susan Ryan ABSENT Trudy Neuhauser PRESENT Jeanine Pentz “ Dr. Antonio Pugliese ABSENT Adina Lee “
Health Officer Ferraioli was present for this evenings meeting. Liaison Klinder was absent. A motion was made by Commissioner Pentz and seconded by Commissioner Neuhauser to accept the regular minutes of the previous meeting. All in favor. The monthly reports were discussed, approved and carried on motion by Vice President Gabriel and seconded by Commissioner Pentz. All in favor. The monthly income and expenses for May: Income-$827.00 and Expenses-$941.87 A motion was then made by Commissioner Pentz and seconded by Vice President Gabriel to approve the finance report and pay the current bills. Motion carried on roll call as follows:

Correspondence: None New Business: There
was a brief discussion about the Union County POD exercise. This was
to see how quickly we could set up a POD. It was conducted at The Kenilworth Little League was informed last year that they needed a two compartment sink. Health Officer Ferraioli stated we did not pursue it last year, however, we stated they would need to comply this year. REHS Grady stated she was told that the “higher ups” said to leave the Little League alone. Health Officer Ferraioli stated he wanted the Board to know he was going forward with requiring the Little League to get the three compartment sink. This is a sanitary requirement. Dr.
Pugliese’s letter of resignation was mentioned. He has purchased a home
in Cranford and his business is in Old Business: Novel
A/H1N1 Flu Strain was briefly discussed. The Federal Government will
deliver a vaccine this fall. Health Officer Ferraioli stated we will
have to look for a facility to give the vaccine. The high school was
suggested. The seasonal flu can still be given at the The
Municipal Rabies Clinic was discussed. Health Officer Ferraioli stated
the clinic is set up for Sunday, October 4th from 10-1 pm at
the Kenilworth Fire Department located on The situation concerning the Shell Service Station was discussed. REHS Grady spoke to GES, the environmental firm that is handling the contamination. The representative for GES stated her client wanted an email sent stating what tests we were requesting. They said they would then forward the information we requested. REHS Grady stated she wanted to know what contaminants they were testing for and the levels that came back. There hasn’t been any response to date. The Health Fair Committee had a meeting. The donation letters have gone out. We have received $950.00 to date. Commissioner Neuhauser suggested having a meeting to find out how many volunteers we need. President Moscaritolo inquired if we had invited to Fire Department. It was decided we would sent a letter to the Fire Department inviting them to attend the Health Fair.
