Pride In Kenilworth Committee

The Pride in Kenilworth Committee was formed by Mayor Michael Tripodi in 1996 with the sole purpose of promoting community pride in the borough. The Committee is made up of volunteers who give their time and energy for this cause.

Currently, the members of the Committee (in alphabetical order) working on projects for 2009 are:

  • Darlene Candarella
  • Kathi Fiamingo
  • Liz Gomez
  • Olga Hackett
  • Barbara Herbert
  • Kassie Joho (Chairperson)

The Committee meets as-needed throughout the year, depending on the activities being planned. The group plans the 7th annual Octoberfest Street Fair. The Committee also sponsors mini-scholarships for local students in memory of members who have passed away. These scholarships are given to two high school students chosen by the Guidance Department on the basis of academic excellence, financial need and community service. The Pride in Kenilworth Committee also runs the annual Holiday Spectacular, and sponsors the 4th of July Fireworks Festivities, with help each year by the Kenilworth Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and Police Department.

Funding for the activities is acquired through fundraising or sponsorships. Your support of these fundraising activities helps the team to run future events.
