SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF KENILWORTH FOR POLICE PROMOTIONS HELD ON WEDNESDAY EVENING, JUNE 30, 2004.� MAYOR GREGG DAVID PRESIDED. ROLL CALLRoll Call at 8:00 P.M. showed the following Council Members present:�� Carmela Colosimo, Ed Galasso, Fred Soos and Robert Taylor.� Peter Corvelli and Alan Jankunas were absent. Mayor David read the requirements of the Open Public Meetings Act. The Salute to the Flag was led by Mayor David. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONSPolice Chief Dowd introduced the four officers and Mayor David read the resolutions. Matthew Devlin, a 17-year veteran of the force is the department�s medical and CPR instructor. RESOLUTION NO.1Introduced by Colosimo who also moved its adoption. Be It Hereby Resolved:�� That Patrolman Matthew Devlin be promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Kenilworth Police Department as per results of the promotion process and as recommended by Chief William Dowd, effective July 5, 2004. Seconded by Soos and on roll call unanimously carried. Timothy Dowd, a 16-year veteran of the force has spent the last 3 � years in the Detective Bureau and is an excellent investigator. RESOLUTION NO.2Introduced by Colosimo who also moved its adoption. Be It Hereby Resolved:�� That Patrolman Timothy Dowd be promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Kenilworth Police Department as per results of the promotion process and as recommended by Chief William Dowd, effective July 5, 2004. Seconded by Soos and on roll call unanimously carried. RESOLUTIONS (CONT)William Hannon, a 17-year veteran of the force, a Sergeant the past four years, is a member of the Union County Emergency Response Team and also the SWAT Team.RESOLUTION NO.3Introduced by Colosimo who also moved its adoption. Be It Hereby Resolved:�� That Sergeant William Hannon be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Kenilworth Police Department as per results of the promotion process and as recommended by Chief William Dowd, effective July 5, 2004. Seconded by Soos and on roll call unanimously carried. Kenneth Grady, Sr., a 19-year veteran of the force and the department�s Traffic Officer. A Sergeant the past six years and president of the Union County Traffic Officer�s Association. RESOLUTION NO.4Introduced by Colosimo who also moved its adoption. Be It Hereby Resolved:�� That Sergeant Kenneth Grady, Sr. be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Kenilworth Police Department as per results of the promotion process and as recommended by Chief William Dowd, effective July 5, 2004. Seconded by Soos and on roll call unanimously carried. Mayor David congratulated the officers on their promotions. Police Commissioner, Carmela Colosimo was proud of their accomplishments. Councilman Taylor congratulated all on their success. Councilman Galasso stated they all earned their promotions. Councilman Soos congratulated them on their promotions.
