SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF KENILWORTH� HELD ON TUESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 18, 2007.� ACTING MAYOR ROBERT TAYLOR PRESIDED.

ROLL CALL

Roll Call at 7:00 P.M. showed the following Council Members present:� Peter Corvelli, Kathi Fiamingo, Robert Taylor and Fred Pugliese. Councilman Clementi and DeLuca were absent.

Acting Mayor Taylor read the requirements of the Open Public Meetings Act.

The Salute to the Flag was led by Acting Mayor Taylor.

Acting Mayor Taylor announced that this� is a Special Meeting with regards to two Ordinances that have second readings.� The Ordinances are for the Kenilworth Public Library and the Kenilworth Fire Department.

A BOND ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ELEVATOR AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY, IN, BY AND FOR THE BOROUGH OF KENILWORTH, IN THE COUNTY OF UNION, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING AN AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF $246,000 THEREFORE AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT EXCEEDING $136,700 IN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF BONDS OR NOTES TO FINANCE PART OF THE COST THEREOF.

Acting Mayor Taylor stated this is a Bond Ordinance for the Kenilworth Public Library Elevator.� He stated that this project is funded in part by a grants from the State and County through Community Development.

Acting Mayor Taylor opened the meeting to the public and stated that anyone who wished to speak on this Ordinance to please step forward, state their name and address for the record.� Seeing no one, he closed the hearing on Ordinance 2007-14.

RESOLUTION NO. 1

Be It Hereby Resolved:�� That Proposed Ordinance No. 2007-14, be and the same is hereby passed on second and final reading and ordered published according to law. (Copy appears in minutes of 11/28/07.)

A BOND ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A CUSTOM TILT CAB FIRE RESCUE PUMPER AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, IN, BY AND FOR THE BOROUGH OF KENILWORTH, IN THE COUNTY OF UNION, NEW JERSEY APPROPRIATING AN AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF $715,000 THEREFOR AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT EXCEEDING $679,250 IN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF BONDS OR NOTES TO FINANCE PART OF THE COST THEREOF.

Acting Mayor Taylor stated this Bond Ordinance puts the funding in place for the purchase of a Fire Truck.� He stated that� this is a second reading and anyone wishing to speak may do so now.� Seeing no one he closed the hearing on Ordinance 2007-15.

RESOLUTION NO. 3

Introduced by Robert Taylor, adoption by same

Seconded by Fred Pugliese, upon roll call all in favor.

WHEREAS, the Borough of Kenilworth heretofore advertised for the receipt of bids for �ADDITION TO KENILWORTH PUBLIC LIBRARY (ELEVATOR)� and W.D. SNYDER, 706 South Michigan Avenue, Kenilworth, NJ� 07033, having submitted a bid of $244,000.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the Addition to the Kenilworth Public Library (Elevator) is hereby awarded to W.D. Snyder at a cost of $244,000.00

RESOLUTION NO. 4

Seconded by Fred Pugliese and upon roll call, all in favor.

WHEREAS, the Borough of Kenilworth heretofore advertised for the receipt of bids for �ONE 2000 GPM TRIPLE COMBINATION RESCUE PUMPER & RELATED EQUIPMENT� and CAMPBELL SUPPLY CO, INC., 145 Talmadge Road, Suite 8 Edison, NJ� 08818-0266, having submitted a bid of $630,778.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for a 2000 GPM Triple Combination Rescue Pumper & Related Equipment is hereby awarded to Campbell Supply Co., Inc., at a cost of $630,778.00.

Acting Mayor Taylor offered his condolences to Councilman DeLuca and his family for the loss of his mother. He asked for a moment of silence.� He stated the services are Wednesday, December 19th� �at Masterpeter�s between the hours of 2 & 4 and 7 & 9 with funeral service on Thursday.

MEETING OPENED TO THE PUBLIC

Tony Peters, Deputy Chief of Kenilworth Fire Department � Mr. Peters congratulated Councilman Corvelli for being made an honorary member of the Kenilworth Fire Department.� He thanked Councilman Corvelli for his service.� He thanked the Governing Body for the new Fire Truck and stated the truck is very much needed and is replacing apparatus that is about 33 years old. He also offered his condolences to the DeLuca Family.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Corvelli, seconded by Councilman Pugliese and carried, that the meeting be adjourned to the call of the chair. All in favor
