New Parking Restrictions
 

NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR SNOW EVENTS EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2012

The following is an excerpt from Ordinance No. 2011-09

PROHIBITED CONDUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH NJSA 39:4-197:

A.      When snowfall covers the streets then:

a.       No Parking on the side of the street where ODD NUMBERED structures exist while the precipitation is falling and for twenty-four hours after the cessation of the precipitation, unless otherwise posted.

b.      The restriction on parking in the above subparagraph shall extend one foot from the edge of the street�s pavement and perpendicular to the street.

c.       There shall be no parking in Municipal Parking Lots and for twenty-four (24) hours after the cessation of the precipitation.

d.      No owner or operator of any vehicle shall park in such manner prohibiting or hindering snow plowing or deicing operations.

B.      The parked side of a vehicle shall be less than four (4) inches from the edge and/or curb of the street.

C.      No person shall use any method to reserve a parking area to maintain a parking spot.

D.      No owner, tenant or occupant of any premises, abutting any street, nor any person working on behalf of any owner, tenant or occupant, shall throw, place or deposit any snow or ice upon the public street.

PENALTIES;

(1)    �First Offense = $250.00

(2)    �Second Offense - $500.00

(3)    �Third Offense = $1,000.00 and the vehicle, if towed, shall not be released until all penalties have been extinguished.
